On April 4, 2025, Microsoft marked its 50th anniversary by unveiling significant advancements in its AI assistant, Copilot.

The updated Copilot now offers more proactive and personalized features, including remembering user-specific details to provide tailored support such as reminders and recommendations.
This move aims to keep Microsoft competitive in the rapidly evolving AI landscape.

An investigation revealed that significant fossil fuel donors to President Donald Trump's 2024 campaign are set to profit from his administration's push to deregulate environmental protections and support energy-intensive AI and data center expansion.

Companies like Energy Transfer and EQT Corporation are poised to benefit from the increased demand for natural gas driven by the growing AI and cryptocurrency sectors, raising concerns about environmental impacts and the influence of campaign donations on policy decisions.

The Motive:

Corporations urge to press on with AI advancements to expedite society and increase profits, but it comes at a cost: energy. The more we move towards a new AI future, the harsher the environmental impact.
