 ✨ OpenAI has unveiled "Operator," an advanced AI agent designed to automate a variety of web-based tasks, enhancing both personal and professional productivity. Currently available as a research preview for ChatGPT Pro subscribers in the United States.

Autonomous Web Interaction

Operator will utilize the internet in the same way you do using its own web browser. It can scroll, write, send emails, order food, fill out forms, and even create memes.

For safety reasons, Operator will ask you to fill in payment details and login info yourself.

Advanced AI Model - Computer-Using Agent (CUA)

Operator utilizes a Computer-Using Agent model, which combines GPT-4o's vision capabilities with advanced reasoning through reinforcement learning.

Collaborations with Leading Platforms

OpenAI is partnering with companies like Instacart, Uber, eBay, Priceline, OpenTable, and Etsy to enhance Operator's functionality.

Operator is only available to users on a pro account in the U.S. but will be rolling out to more users after testing is completed. We may see this as a free feature in the future as competition in the AI Agent space heats up.
