🏫 OpenAI and Arizona State University strike a deal.

• Students are turning to ChatGPT for numerous tasks like study guides, exam prep, research assisting, and even mock interviews.

• Faculty are utilizing ChatGPT for curriculum development to enhance learning outcomes.

• Professors are able to create course-specific GPTs to aid in student comprehension and find new ways to educate.

• ChatGPT Edu assists researchers in writing grant applications, conducting literature reviews, and analyzing data. It also helps edit research papers and generate research ideas.

• ChatGPT Edu allows administrators to build custom CPTs to help students navigate their first years at university. From campus navigation, learning about programs, financial support, to providing support across many queries as ASU heavily implements AI into their programs.

• “Higher education in 50 years will be highly diversified, technologically enhanced, and throughout a person’s life.”

• ASU asked faculty and students if they wanted to incorporate AI and ChatGPT within their educational system, and the response was an overwhelming yes.

The Motive:

OpenAI's strategy seems to mirror the early tactics of Microsoft, which introduced computers into schools, thus training students on the Windows operating system. By embedding AI tools like ChatGPT in educational settings, OpenAI ensures that students build their knowledge base on its platform and grow dependent on its technology.

While some schools are raising barriers to AI, others are embracing it wholeheartedly. This could prove to be a smart move for OpenAI, as AI quickly becomes ubiquitous in our daily lives.

At this rate, it won't be long before AI is fully integrated into K-12 public school systems.

🎥 Hotshot Video Generator, The Best Thing or Just Another AI Tool?

 📸 Hotshot video generator has hit the scene and is currently being touted as the latest and greatest AI video generator to emerge online. But, after reviewing is it just another overhyped AI tool?
Testing it out myself, and digging through other people's reviews, it has the ability to create beautiful realistic videos from text prompts.

• You get three video creations a day, and if you want more you're going to have to fork over some cash.

• Prompt Adherence: It can be hit-and-miss, with a few more inconsistencies than I'm used to. Compared to other AI generators, I found it slightly above Luma Labs Dream Machine, and a little behind Runway & Kling, somewhere in between.

• Pricing Plans:

  Free: with 3 generations per day

  Standard: 100 video generations per month, unlimited daily generations, preset aspect ratios, and commercial use permitted.

  Plus: 300 generations per month and everything included in the standard plan.

• Comparisons: If you're into generating AI videos Hotshot's pricing plan is fairly steep compared with other AI systems.

  I have to say with the prompt adherence, I'm a little more impressed with Luma Labs' free plan and find better quality from Runway's Gen 3.

The Motive:

It seems like every week another AI video or image generator is stepping up to the plate in an already crowded field.

Despite its novelty and initial entry into the competition, Runway remains my preferred choice due to its superior prompt adherence, high-quality output, and broad customization options.

However, Hotshot does have some high points. It can create stunning videos with simple inputs like drone flyovers and waves crashing on a beach, but my expectations leveled off from there, and I'm not alone in this opinion.

Many other AI enthusiasts feel the same way as a great tool, but does it stack up against its competitors? At this time of writing, not really.

If you prefer creating simple AI videos for free, you could open accounts on several different platforms, create a few free videos a day, and see which you like best.
