The first wave of Apple Intelligence features are reported as:

The ChatGPT integration, Genmoji, Image Playground, and other AI features are expected to come around the end of the year and into 2025. This means your newly purchased iPhone will not get all the latest and greatest AI features until we are almost at the release of Appleās next rollout.
Siri Upgrade: Siri becoming your number one AI assistant will not happen until next year. Expected by March, this update aims to enable Siri to control apps more precisely and access personal information to answer user queries.
Apple Intelligence will be on iPhone16s, iPhone 15 Pro, some iPads and Macs released in the last four years.
The Motive:
Early testing of the Apple Intelligence features by the public missed the mark in some areas.
Appleās Clean Up tool and Text summarization tool was a flat out disappointment for some. Clean Up replaced image parts with image distortion or incoherency, while text summarization suffers from AI hallucinations.
The audio transcriber tool did a fine job of generating text from audio, and the text editor was a nice touch, users reported.
Summarizing written content and removing objects from images was so bad people quit on it, and that is a huge problem.
If AI capabilities are there to just sound cool, the overall hype fades. Whatās the point in using something that doesnāt work? The lengthy delays may signal that Apple is struggling to implement AI functionality with their iOS operating systems.

While DevDay might not of been a huge public splash in the news, these features are trying to shift more developers into OpenAI integrations and furthering their reach.
In recent news, OpenAI is shifting from a non-profit to a for-profit company, and now announcing lower cost opportunities for developers. The company has taken an aggressive approach to implement ChatGPTs anywhere they can. These moves aim to broaden accessibility, efficiency, and, most importantly, lower cost.
